The British Chamber Working Groups provide a platform for members to get involved in the Chamber's work, including advocacy at industry and government level particularly to improve the business environment in Myanmar. Energy Working Group

Chairperson: Mr Neil Carmichael, Siren EP

The Energy Working Group aims to share best practice and drive standards in the industry, bringing in expertise from the UK to support the industry. The Group works with the Myanmar Business Forum to share practical solutions to challenges facing the industry and improve the business environment in Myanmar. Members of the group include BG Group, Ophir and Parami.

Accounting, Tax and Finance Working Group

Chairperson: Zaw Erskine, BDO

The Accounting and tax working group is for accounting, tax and finance professionals, both in practice and working in industry, who are members of the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar to meet, discuss and find solutions for various accounting and tax issues the group is facing. The working group shares best working practice, and information, as well as providing support for members who are facing particularly challenging tax, or accounting issues. Members of the group include BDO, EY, ACCA, British American Tobacco, City Mart and Jardine Matheson.

Legal Working Group

Chairperson: Helen Rhind-Hufnagel, Stephenson Harwood LLP

The Legal Working Group brings together local and international law firms and in-house counsel practicing in Myanmar to discuss topical legal issues and share information. Membership is open to interested law firms that are members of the Chamber and in-house counsel at member companies.
