A Message from the Chair: CEO Transition at the Chamber

As a Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, I would like to share an important CEO leadership update at BCCM.

After an impactful tenure, Ian Fox will be stepping down as CEO of the Chamber. Since joining in January 2024, Ian has led BCCM with great resilience and unwavering commitment in a challenging operating environment. Under his leadership, the Chamber has hosted over 150 events, trainings, workshops, and working group meetings, ensuring that our 220 members had meaningful opportunities to network, influence, and engage. He has grown the British Club's membership to over 200. His engagement through the 'Britain in Southeast Asia (BiSEA)' network provided a platform to discuss doing business in Myanmar regionally and in the UK. He is currently supporting efforts by BCCM's members to collaborate with multilateral agencies and the international community to revive business in Myanmar after the earthquake. His energy and dedication have been instrumental in strengthening the Chamber’s role in Myanmar’s business community, further developing relations with the British Embassy and engaging Myanmar's Chamber and trade associations. Ian is moving to the Philippines in August to accompany his wife, Alison, who has been appointed Principal of the Nord Anglia International School, Manila.

I am delighted to announce that Jessica Myint will be stepping into the role of CEO at BCCM. Jessica brings a wealth of experience, deep knowledge, and a strong understanding of both Myanmar and the UK business landscapes. She has led strategic projects and multidisciplinary teams across the private, public, and third sectors, delivering impactful brand experiences that build loyalty, strengthen reputation, and drive sustainable growth. With a background in communications and business development, Jessica brings a unique blend of strategic insight, cross-cultural sensitivity and an empathetic approach that fosters strong stakeholder relationships and empowers teams to achieve meaningful results.

I am confident that under her leadership, the Chamber will continue to thrive and evolve in service of our members and partners. Ian is handing over to Jessica in the coming days with Jessica starting permanently on 1 July 2025.

Please join me in thanking Ian for his outstanding service and in welcoming Jessica to her new role.

Kind Regards,

Peter Beynon
